Control add-onProduct · Congestion management

Turn grid congestion into a new revenue stream.

In more and more areas, the grid operator is asking for flexibility. Congestion management deploys your controllable assets on congestion signals and enables compensation for temporary curtailment. Coordination with market parties runs via COMCAM.

Control add-on

Fixed monthly price, for controllable assets

Congestion management builds on controllable assets. Which forms of compensation are possible depends on your grid area and situation.

What you can do with it

From bottleneck to business model

Congestion limits the room to grow on the grid. Those who can offer flexibility help the grid and create a new revenue stream.

Responding to congestion signals

On a congestion signal, the platform temporarily curtails your controllable assets, automatically and within your limits.

Enabling compensation

Temporary curtailment can earn compensation. COMCAM makes clear which form suits your situation.

Coordination via COMCAM

Coordination with the grid operator and market parties runs via COMCAM. You keep the overview without having to enter the market yourself.

Demonstrably delivered

Quarter-hourly data substantiates what you have delivered. Your contribution is demonstrable and the settlement verifiable.

How it works

How flexibility becomes income

01

Map your flexibility

Together we determine which assets are controllable, how much flexibility they offer and within which limits.

02

Connect to the signals

Your flexibility is connected to the congestion signals in your grid area, with COMCAM as the link.

03

Deliver and account

On a signal, the platform delivers automatically. Metering data substantiates the flexibility delivered and the compensation.

In practice

Where Congestion management proves itself

01

Business park at full capacity

Where the grid is full, flexibility becomes scarce and valuable. Participants help the grid and benefit themselves.

02

Battery or CHP available

Assets that are already in place can deliver extra value at congestion moments, on top of their day-to-day role.

03

Securing expansion

Those who offer flexibility are in a different position with the grid operator in conversations about headroom and connections.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to take part?

Controllable assets are the foundation, for example a battery, CHP, cooling or curtailable solar production. Together we determine how much flexibility you can safely offer.

How high is the compensation?

That differs per grid area, contract type and situation. COMCAM does not quote figures without knowing your specific situation; we make it concrete in a no-obligation conversation.

Will this disrupt my operations?

No, that is the hard precondition. Curtailment only happens within the limits you set. If a signal cannot be met safely, it does not happen.

How does this relate to Asset Management?

Asset Management controls on price signals from the market, Congestion management on signals from the grid. They use the same controllable assets and reinforce each other.
